The US Army did the right thing

Who knows if it was Rep. Hunter (who is two for two on helping out soldiers being railroaded), the media pressure and publicity, or if there are truly leaders in the right places that care more about doing the hard right rather than the easy (politically correct) wrong.

Either way, great news came out tonight about SFC Charles Martland…

In a stunning reversal, the U.S. Army decided late Thursday to retain a decorated Green Beret it had planned to kick out after he physically confronted a local Afghan commander accused of raping a boy over the course of many days.

Had the Army allowed this decorated and brave soldier to be kicked out, it would have been a dark day for the Army and its leaders. The only way soldiers will walk into the gates of hell and lay their lives on the line, is knowing their leaders have their backs and will support them. Trust me it is not for the money, medals or cool gear. Soldiers will do their jobs, but they would not go above and beyond if they ever think that by doing the “right” thing, they would have their lives altered and careers ruined.
