A rarity, a story about Iraq

As anyone who reads my blog knows, I rarely talk about Iraq on here as I try to keep mine Afghanistan focused. However I do discuss military issues in general too. This story that I found via my buddy CJ over at http://www.soldiersperspective.us/ was interesting enough that I wanted to post something here about it. The story is a good one, but what makes it interesting is that you are not hearing about this anywhere else. As the story alludes to, the major liberal-leaning US based networks are not covering this, because well…it is good news out of Iraq. Who wants good news? Good news means the MSM, Hollywood and every other right-bashing person in this country have nothing to complain about.

Bouhammer with an opinion…

  1. Thanks for sharing the link. That is a good article and I agree with most of it. I don’t believe that we’ve defeated the last remnants of AQI, though. They have been beaten down, and most have relocated (like to Astan and Pstan). I would like to hear from soldiers on the ground in areas of Iraq where fighting is still going on. Do they really believe that AQI is defeated and the war is over in Iraq? I send care packages to soldiers training Iraqi police forces in remote Iraq and one just said this week that there’s a long way to go, but the locals are rising up and fighting alongside the Iraqi police and their American mentors. Good news, but not over yet.
